FAQ

What is your method for clearing trees and brush?
We use what is known as a tractor mounted forestry mulcher. Its rotating teeth grind material similar to the way a wood chipper works. Because it’s mounted to the front of a tractor, it’s highly portable and maneuverable. There’s no need to cut trees, etc. and feed them into the machine. We simply drive over what we want to mulch. We can clear around trees that you want to keep and can get close to obstacles like fences without causing any damage.

What happens to the mulch that you produce?
All of the mulch that’s produced spread out and left on the ground to act as natural, free fertilizer. The mulch immediately begins to reduce erosion and helps hold moisture in the ground. Usually, dormant grass seed in the soil begins to grow almost immediately. As the mulch breaks down, all of the nutrients are recycled into your soil.

Can I select certain trees or plants to keep?
Yes! Because our equipment is very precise, you can chose to keep or remove any trees or plants that you like. We always start by walking the property with you to identify your specific desires. We can also help identify your best trees and recommend which ones to preserve.

Do the trees have to be standing? What about existing brush piles?
We can grind fallen and/or dead trees just as easily as growing trees. Also, we can grind your old brush piles into mulch to avoid the need to burn or haul them away.

What time of year should I clear my land?
Any time! Because we don’t damage any trees that you want to keep, there is no “season” for the mulching process.

Can you work in bad weather?
Yes! We use enclosed and climate controlled tractors equipped with rubber tracks. Rain, snow, mud, etc. generally don’t affect us at all. And because our equipment creates very low ground pressure, soil disturbance, damage to grass, etc. is kept to a minimum.

Will your equipment damage my grass/soil?
Generally, there is little or no damage to the soil and any existing grass. Our equipment creates much less ground pressure than a conventional dozer, truck, car, etc.

How many acres can you clear per day?
This is the hardest question to answer. The speed at which we can clear depends on several things: type of wood/brush, size of trees, density of growth, roughness of terrain, number of obstacles, etc. In general, small, soft trees go quickly and large, hard trees go slower. Also, creating a “rough” mulch is a quicker process than creating a “fine” mulch. Each job is different, so it’s always good to take a look and discuss first. Contact us for a free quote.

How much does it cost?
Each job is different and we like to visit the property in order to give an accurate price quote. Compared to other land clearing methods, our process is very cost effective. We can cover a lot of ground in a short time (check out our videos and before/after photos). Costs can be quoted by the hour, day, week, or total job. Contact us for a free quote.

Do you haul away or burn brush piles?
No. With our one-step mulching process, there’s nothing left to haul away or burn. Only mulch is left on your property.

What about “burn bans”?
Burn bans are common in our area, especially in the summer. Our process doesn’t leave stumps or piles that need to be burned, so finding a time to burn is not a problem. If you have brush piles on your property from previous clearing or trimming, we can grind them into mulch and remove your need to burn.
