Our company is committed to the improvement of land and to the enhancement and preservation of its natural elements. We use environmentally friendly methods to assist in land management and to improve the appearance, enjoyment, usability, and value of public and private lands.
Our specialty is a highly selective Precision Land Clearing process. 100% of unwanted vegetation is recycled without disturbing the soil or desirable plants and trees. All organic material is ground into mulch and returned to the soil as beneficial, natural fertilizer eliminating the need to burn or haul anything away.
Land in areas frequently under burn bans can benefit tremendously from this process. We can create firebreaks, thin or remove underbrush, and mulch existing brush piles to reduce fire danger.
If you are considering a clearing project, please contact us to discuss how we can offer you a cost effective and environmentally sound alternative to traditional land clearing methods.
A message from the owner:
Wilson Collier Land Improvement was created out of a love of the land and a desire to practice good land stewardship. More specifically, one of my long term goals was to reclaim and “improve” my overgrown and “farmed-out” multi-generational family farm. My search for a cost-effective and environmentally friendly method to clear unwanted trees and brush led me to experiment with forestry mulchers.
After seeing the results (and living through a steep learning curve), I was convinced of the value these machines bring to this kind of work. Not only were things cleared, but the soil stopped washing away and started growing better things….and the old place started to look a lot better very quickly.
As I moved into projects for other people and things expanded, I struggled to come up with a company name. I wanted something that would be “catchy”… and described what we do… and communicated my desire to work hard… and signified quality and value… And I realized that that’s a lot to accomplish with one name.
So I decided to keep it simple and forgo the “catchy” part. I put my name on the company–to remind me of the qualities that I want to portray in the work that I do. And my family’s name–multiple generations of native Texans who have long been tied to this dirt. And Land Improvement…it’s what we want and what we do.
